Caroline Llorca





Caroline Llorca is recognized worldwide as a specialist of the Petipa's repertoire, as well as the Vaganova method. She was awarded from the French government a scholarship to study in Russia, and was the first French dancer to graduate the legendary Vaganova school in St-Petersburg, in the class of Natalia M. Doudinskaia.​

Her unique knowledge of both French and Russian ballet attracted immediately professional ballet companies and she became ballet mistress at age 21.​

Her productions of Paquita and Pas de 4 in Paris, acclaimed by the press, received immediately government support.​

She taught in Paris, London, New-York, Monte Carlo, Milan, Tokyo, Boston, Barcelona, Istanbul, Helsinki, Lyon, Alvin Ailey and Maguy Marin Dance Company, Jacobs´Pillow, Varna, Jackson international summer workshops.​

She coached N. Ananiashvili, E.Pankova, F.Bujones, I. Zelenski, K. Melnikov, C.Stallings, A. Suarez, P.Thrussel , K.Alexi…​

Ballet mistress of the Boston ballet 1990-95, her work with the corps and coaching of the ballerinas for Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, got unanimous acclaims and ranked the company among the finest in the world.​

In 1998 and 2001, she staged Don Quixote and Bayadère for the National Ballet of Mexico. Both productions received tremendous success and were named "cultural events" of the year.​

She directs regularly teachers courses in Paris, Centre National de la Danse, Conservatoire National Supérieur de danse , Barcelona´s federation of teachers, Lyon, Helsinki etc...​

Jury member of international ballet competitions, she appears in ballet books „Swan Lake“ (Oslo) and ballet movies „The making of Giselle“, Munich, and "First position“, USA.​

Appointed Ballet Professor at the University of Performing Arts, in Munich. From 2001 on, her efforts to develop a new generation of German dancers have been very successful.

Mrs Llorca was distinguished with France's Ordre National du Mérite in 2011.​
