On Tuesday 7th February Quand On Danse hosted a contemporary dance workshop for the students of the Mosa Ballet School, under the guidance of dancer Florent Devlesaver.
Following an accident, Florent gets about in a wheelchair. He has had to learn to use his body differently, in ways that can enhance the possibilities of Dance. His chair does not stand in the way of his passion, rather, it has become an extension of his movements.
The workshop allowed our students to experience how they can create movement, make it their own, and even personalise it, with freedom and in an interpretation that is specific to every one. Furthermore, its goal was to integrate contemporary dance techniques into a more inclusive approach.
Our students enjoyed the experiment. The diversity resulting from mixing up various levels and ages even further strengthened group cohesion at our school.
